Home-School-Community Partnership in Supporting ECE Development LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

Indonesian’s Policy on Early Childhood Education, “One ECE center in One Village” has been receiving many praises since the national data show that from 77,460 villages, there are 23,379 villages left that do not have ECE center. Yet in order to achieve qualified ECE, is talking also qualified and competent teachers. However, developing both qualification and competency of ECE teachers seem need extra effort.
Parallel with the effort on developing teachers’ capacity, and in order to accelerate the educational development, MoEC has launched a new unit namely Parenting Education Directorate at the end of last year. The main duty of Parenting Education Directorate is to undertake partnership of home-school-community.
The big challenge for the new Directorate is to return paradigm that parent plays the first, and the main role for children’s learning. Parent is used to become the first resource person for children to respond their curiosity, and home is the main environment to habituate good character.
In addition to that, many parents, schools (including ECE Centers), and community have not aware, understand and skilled enough to bridge them-selves as three important parties in supporting their children’s success.
Based on the above current situation as well as challenges, it is highly important to continue conducting Capacity Building of Parenting Education for Principals to Enhance Home-School-Community Partnership Program. The program is expected to improve the capacity of principals to formulate appropriate interventions (learning materials, teaching methods, etc.) for the development of parental involvement, and parenting education.
Note:
The session will be presented in Bahasa Indonesia.
